71 WEEKS AND HE STILL HAS NOT BEEN CLEARED: FBI, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) investigation and Chief of Police requests new taser

Tulelake, CA— Editorial:

There is an agenda item put on the agenda by the Tulelake Chief of Police; Tony Ross for the January 21st city council meeting at 7 PM.

With the on going investigation by the FBI, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), I don’t know that now is the right time to try to get a new taser.

“Request to purchase second taser using Realignment money (Discussion/Action) Chief of Police.”

At this present time the sources I have contacted have yet to confirm or deny the on going investigation against the Tulelake Chief of Police; Tony Ross.

The information officer has yet to return my phone inquires after a Siskiyou detective said he would have the information officer give me a call and an update as to the on going open investigation against the Tulelake Chief of Police; Tony Ross.

But according to the following news reported and Written by Lyle Ahrens, Posted: Fri, September 6 2013 at 5:02 PM, Updated: Fri, September 6 2013 at 5:13 PM

Tulelake City Council Exonerates Police Chief

“Tulelake Mayor Randy Darrow believes the investigation was sparked by an arrest made by Chief Ross on February 3rd, Superbowl Sunday...

"The allegation was misconduct, racial."

“But current Mayor Darrow reports that the Tulelake City Council has voted to free the chief of any blame...” Even though the F.B.I. and Siskiyou County investigation has not yet been completed.

A release from the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office last June estimated the investigation would take 30 days...it is now going on 33 weeks.

An F.B.I. spokesperson was not at liberty to comment on the status of that investigation.

So, I don’t think it is a good idea right now to grant the Chief of Police, Tony Ross's request until the investigation has been closed in it’s entirety or they bring charges against the Chief of Police; Tony Ross.

There may be council members who may disagree with my opinion. That is their right to disagree and they can state it publicly during the meeting on Tuesday night as they discuss the taser issue put on the agenda by the Chief of Police Tony Ross.

The same way it is my right to disagree and point out that I do not think this is a good time for the Chief of Police Tony Ross to be requesting a new taser until the investigation has been completed by being closed or charges brought against Tony Ross.

And I am sure I am not the only one that believes this or thinks this in the city of Tulelake, CA. The Chief of Police talks about red flags. Well, I personally think this is a big one in my personal opinion. I am not for or against the taser. I just think the timing is bad and it should wait until after the investigation has been completed entirely, IMO.

What say you?
