Special Meeting and Regular Meeting of the Tulelake City Council on Monday Feb 3, 2014

Tulelake, CA— On February 3, 2014 at 5:00 PM there will be a special meeting to interview three applicants for the police officer position each separately in closed session. The mayor will make an announcement at the conclusion of the closed session.

Title of position: Police Officer.

Next at 7:00 PM there will be the regular meeting of the Tulelake city council where the Director of Pubic Works and Jeremy Morris will discuss and update those in attendance the latest information on the on going Wastewater project.

Up next will be concerns regarding new utility collection policy that went into effect on January 1, 2014. Teresa Williams will be there to discuss her point of view on how she feels about the city policy regarding the new collection policy. The city council will then discuss her concerns and come up with action as to what the city plans on doing about it.

Mr. James Garland of Tulelake New Times (TNT) is requesting updated information regarding the City of Tulelake’s phone and answering machine service. Mr. James Garland is wanting to know an estimated time of completing from the Council for community awareness. The council will then discuss his concerns and share publicly what progress the city has done to this point of resolving the situation. By the City of Tulelake coming up with a cost effective solution. Or table it for another agenda item to prolong it down the road. At which time hopefully a reasonable solution can be found to solve concerns Mr. Garland of Tulelake New Times (TNT) has with the phone and answering machine service for the community of Tulelake.

The mayor has concerns regarding hazardous areas within the City limits and within City department areas. The mayor will report on the SCORE, which is insurance for small cities regarding leased City properties. There will be a discussion and the council will decide the next steps.

The Chief of Police, Tony Ross has brought to the agenda asking permission to attend the California Police Chief’s Conference in Monterey. The city will discuss and decide giving The Chief of Police, Tony Ross permission to attend the meeting in Monterey.

There will be an announcement prior to closed session re Real Estate Negotiations for Boyd property: names for real estate negotiators, the real property and the person whom negotiators may negotiators.

Finally there will be a closed secession with the Real Estate Negotiations re: purchase of Boyd properties.
