7-11 Committee Recommendation for the use of Newell Elementary School.

Tulelake, CA— This evening the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District held their regular board meeting. On the agenda was the 7-11 Committee Report and Recommendation for the use of Newell Elementary School.

At the last meeting of the 7-11 Committee and their final meeting of the two the advisory 7-11 Committee had. The 7-11 Committee decided the best option for Newell Elementary School facility would be the Fire Department.

The Fire Department plans using the Newell Elementary School as a Community Center for Newell.

Tonight Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District started off the meeting with the introduction of the information the 7-11 committee was presenting to the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District Board.

Then the Board switched gears and decided to go on with the other agenda items first and put the discussion for the recommendation of the 7-11 committee at the end of Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District regular board meeting as one of the discussion items at the end of tonight’s meeting.

The Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District regular board meeting room was packed with many teachers and administrators from the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District schools.

There will be an update as to what the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School District decided to do with the recommendation the 7-11 committee concluded. What the best option from all the other options the 7-11 committee spent two meetings deciding upon. The 7-11 came to the conclusion and recommend to the Tulelake Basin Joint Unified School Board that the Fire Department take charge and be allowed to purchase the Newell Elementary School. The Fire Department wants and would like to turn Newell Elementary School into a Community Center for Newell, CA.
