Tulelake, CA— Jeremy Morris reviewed and presented to the Tulelake City Council the Notice of Award for the 2014 STIP STREET PROGECT. Where Jeremy Morris mentioned there would be a need for traffic control during the Asphalt paving and sidewalk work being done for close to a half a million dollars with the Notice of Award between Rocky Mountain Construction and the city of Tulelake by having Mayor Randy Darrow sign the Notice of Award presented to Rocky Mountain Construction.
Then Jeremy Morris also discussed project #2 the wastewater packet. Where there are five options for the city to choose from for the wastewater project. As to the final outcome and which way the collection system with the 1 or 2 million price tag the city of Tulelake is up against in solving the wastewater project in the near future. There is a meeting slated for the 3rd of March with the wetland process where it seems option number 3 will end up as the most likely choice of the 5 mentioned and presented in past meetings to the Tulelake City Council.
Mike from Bear Technologies presented three bids for a possible new phone system for the city of Tulelake in the near future. To replace the old phone system that is outdated by almost 25 years and it was already 15 years old when it was installed a decade ago.
What Mike from Bear Technologies has proposed is a bid for city hall at $5,431.48, $4,206.99 for the Police Department and $874.49 for Public Works. The Finance Director feels the city cannot afford such a system with the cities financial situation presently. She feels there needs to be other bids offered to see if anyone else can beat the bid being presented by Bear Technologies and most of the city employees would like to distance themselves from the Cal-Org solution to the problem at the present time. Only because of experience city employees have received from Cal-Org in the past on the outdated phone system. The city council voted to table the purchasing of a new phone system until further study can be me made with other bids to be presented that might be lower than the one offered by Mike from Bear Technologies.
Tom Cordonier wanted to amend a motion he made at the last city council meeting on the water bill discussion for the February 3, 2014 regular meeting minutes by the following: “ I amend my previous motion to read that those customers who fail to make the agreed upon payments and not stay current with payments, will immediately fall into the current shut off policy” a statement and correction made by City Council Member Tom Cordonier at tonight's city council meeting.
