"A dispute about the disposal of ash from a wood stove led to the shooting death of a 66-year-old Jackie Lawyer of Winlock on Thursday morning, according to court documents.

Filed late Friday afternoon in Lewis County Superior Court, the documents highlight how a petty dispute turned into a homicidal exchange at the Frost Road Mobile Home Park.

According to the papers, Lawyer confronted her neighbor, Richard Joseph Frank Roth, 65, while he was doing laundry in the park's recreation building. She called him a "snitch" for telling the park's manager she was dumping ash from her stove in the woods across the street from the trailer park.

According to the documents, Roth and Lawyer exchanged insults. He returned to his trailer and put a .22 revolver in his back jeans pocket. When Roth returned to the recreation building, Lawyer confronted him again. The argument escalated, and Roth pulled the gun out of his pocket, pointed it at Lawyer's neck and fired one shot, according to the documents."
