Yreka, CA- Court Case People vs. Petroson -->(Not misspelled, correct spelling)
The jury was busy jotting down notes at this point in the trial. This jury seems to be intent on getting the verdict right when that time does come and the case is submitted to them for the their verdict.
Alex was arrested on May 3rd, 2012 at 8:30 PM and the officer who had arrested Alex was not on the stand testify as to what happened from the officer's point of view. Which it seems to be different than what Alex has stated to date and to his point of view. Alex has not taken the stand yet, but he will get that opportunity soon.
Officer Reeder testified that he pulled a silver Toyoata for going 25 miles over the speed limt that was posted 55 miles an hour. At this point in the trail People's 2 was entered into the trial by the district attorney Quinn.
Officer Reeder testified that what got his attention was the weaving of the car as he pulled Alex over the first time. Officer Reeder was asked why after stopping Alex why he approched Alex from the passenger side of the car? Officer went on after being asked that question. "It is because it is standard CHP proceedure now for safety reasons to approach on the passenger side complared to the way it was done in the past by doing it from the driver's side of the car." It was begining to get dark as Officer Reeder began the DUI testing of Alex for a DUI.
Judge Davis, stopped at this point and said it would be a good time to take a lunch break for lunch.
All parties at this time took a lunch break on the first day of this trial for Alez on Thursday Mar 13, 2014.
1:30 PM Court resumes
Officer Reeder was still on the stand as he was when the court went to lunch, so on returning Officer Reeder took his place back on the stand once again to continue his testimony against Alex.
Officer Reeder noticed Alex's accent and mention that is what caught his attention is that Alex had a foregign accent. The DA Quinn then began asking a list of questions about the DUI that he had prepared to ask Officer Reeder the moment he got him on the stand. Where Officer Reeder mention that Alez had said he had been driving from Klamath Falls to San Francisco with his wife as a passenger or someone he was having a relationship with during that time in May 2012.
Alex was claiming he was in Klamath Falls at 7:30 PM in Klamath Falls, Oregon and had only one drink. It was a wine and some garlic and cheese.
The DA Quinn then asked Officer Reeder, "On a scale from 1-10 in someone being intoxacated where did Alex fall on that scale?"
