Yreka, CA-- Article
I was trying last night to figure our where I wanted to go or end up. Or for that matter which way I was being led before the chill of the night began to set in. At night I need a place with light to be able to see to write the blogs in long hand each night before I post them the next day.
I was heading in a zigzag sort of way from downtown Yreka to the Wal-Mart area pushing my homeless shopping cart and wishing I could sleep in my bed in Tulelake and I will soon in about nine more days.
In the distance I saw a motorized wheel chair heading my direction, so I was moving over to let it pass me on the sidewalk with my homeless shopping cart. I had moved out of the way to give it the right of way on the sidewalk. But I feel I was in the right place at the right time.
I noticed the head lights on the motorized wheel chair and I thought that was real neat and a kool thing to have on it. Then all of sudden I noticed there was a real problem. His dog was lagging behind the wheel chair as if the dog were getting caught under the wheels. In fact that is exactly what was happening as the leash had round around the rear right wheel and there was no more left for the dog to use.
The leash had completely been engulfed and the dog was about to either be run over by the rear wheels or strangle or be hung as there was no more of the leash left. So, I got the attention of the guy who was in it that is his dog was in danger of getting hurt or maybe even die.
If the guy had gone forward any more the dog was surely going to hurt it's self, badly. It was so tight there was no more of the leash left. After he finally stopped I approached him and asked if the dog would bite me if I tried to get it loose. And he said, "No!" and that his dog did not bite...
To be continued....
