Tulelake, CA— Honor, Love of Country and God Bless America and our Children

On Saturday June 14, 2014 last week at 4:00 PM starting at the same moment across the entire United States from Florida to California, Coast-to-Coast across this great land we call the United States of America.
A grass roots effort was started to try and get as many people to sing the National Anthem across America at the same exact time.

"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States. The lyrics come from "Defense of Fort M'Henry", a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in the Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.

The following was reported and written by Sherry Hughbanks of the Baptist Church in Tulelake, California and the group of people who were in the picture that was taken on Saturday June 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM.

“At 1:00 p.m. Pacific Day-Light Savings Time the people from Tulelake, Newell, Malin, Merrill, and Mississippi came to sing the Stars Spangle Banner in honor of our National Anthem's 200 birthday. What a thrill it was to sing our national anthem and have the flag there. It was an exciting time to listen to the voices sing this special song.” By Sherry Hughbanks
