Tulelake, CA— PSA
The City of Tulelake, CA will have a booth at the Tulelake/Butte Valley Fair located in the commercial building on the fair grounds. The purpose and idea for having the booth at the fair this year is two fold.
1. To get people more involved with the City of Tulelake in a positive way.
2. To have a raffle to raise money for new Christmas decorations that hang on the streetlights.
The City of Tulelake is asking local businesses in the surrounding areas if they would step up and donate gift certificates, gift baskets or even items from their business in what in radio advertising is referred and termed as “trades” for commercial air time in exchange for products or services from their business. Not only helps the radio station with promotions; but it helps the business generate more foot traffic they might not be able to get otherwise without the trades and promotions of their business at the Tulelake/Butte Valley Fair.
I know this from personal working experience as working as an on air radio DJ for KPAK AM 1230 Country and KLXR Classic Rock AM 1230 back in 1988 and for KFXS 102.7 FM AC and KARZ 106.1 FM in the early 1990’s while attending Simpson University in Redding, CA.
Each year the Tulelake/Butte Valley Fair generates close to 40,000 or more people who visit each year in the only Fair that is family friendly and does not serve or sell alcohol at the Fair.
In this since this is similar to that idea and it is a win/win for the businesses and can be also for the City of Tulelake to help generate funds to buy new Christmas decorations for the City of Tulelake, CA.
I believe even individuals can donate money to the fund as well. For more information call the City of Tulelake for more information at (530) 667-5522 during regular business hours or leave a message and they will return your call ASAP.
