UPDATED: 2 suspects in deputy's shooting arrested; officer identified
Tulelake, CA— Editorial: Let the professionals do their job and no one will get hurt unnecessarily by actions of others, trying to be heroes.
Today was not a usual day in Tulelake, CA where all the schools went into lock down, along with Tulelake City Hall and the Tulelake Public Library. There were quite a few people who were a bit concerned with all the commotion with a helicopter flying over the Tulelake High School as a precaution looking for the suspect.
There was from what information that was received that a vehicle similar to the one the suspect was driving was spotted in the Ridge View area. But it turned out to be a false alarm, but all the training and exercises that have been practiced paid off. Except for those few who went into a panic mode and wanted to arm themselves out of the fear of having the suspect show up on their doorstep.
Which can cause more panic than is necessary in emergency situations like this. It is best to follow law enforcement instructions and not go into a panic by getting other people in the fear mode. In other words; let law enforcement do their job without adding any more fear in people’s minds by some people over reacting to the situation. Law enforcement know how to do their job without you adding to a dangerous situation where they know their job and do not need people going off, half cocked and adding more danger to a dangerous situation that it us all ready by having some people take it upon themselves to appoint themselves or deputized themselves, like this is the old west.
Law enforcement had the situation completely under control without some people instilling more fear, than was necessary. Law enforcement are well trained in doing their job, without you making a dangerous situation by your involvement, even more dnagerious. It is best to let Law Enforcement do their job and for you to go about your business and let them do theirs.
It is situations like that, that can put other people in a more dangerous situation by your involvement as not being a professional that they are at their jobs. If they did not ask for your assistance, it was best to leave the situation in their hands, as they are the professionals and you are not. By taking things into your hands you put other people in a panic mode and danger, that they did not need to be in because of you. If they needed your assistance they would ask for it, without you appointing yourself in their place, as most of the times in situations like that you end up putting their lives in danger by trying to take the law into your own hands and be a hero
The professionals know how to do their job without your interference where you could end up putting innocent people in danger for your fear mongering and interference. Let Law Enforcement do their job, as they did and no one will get hurt or be put in danger because of your actions that were neither called for, or necessary. It is always best to let the professionals do their job and then you won’t be putting their lives in danger by your over reaction to a situation they had well under control before your heroics.
All you needed to do was just be alert and follow their instructions, without you getting in the way by thinking you are trying to help, when in fact, you are making their job even harder and difficult even more and who knows you may be the one they shoot for your fear mongering of not allowing the professions to do their jobs by getting in the ways and mistaking you as the suspect(s). Law Enforcement are more than capable of having know how to do their jobs professionally, and you do not. p>Most of the time what happens is you end up being the one hurt or getting someone else hurt if you would have just let Law Enforcement do their job, without your interference or getting people around you in a fear mode because of your actions, instead of just letting them do their job, after all, that is what they are paid to do and you are not.
Tuelake, CA and the schools, city hall and library did all the right things today, as they have been or have knowledge or training to do when situations arise like this this one that did today.
I commend all those that did what they were suppose to do, with the exception of those few who wanted and did instill more fear, than was needed or necessary today. Law Enforcement know their job and it is always best to let them do it, without you getting others upset or in fear where none was necessary or needed today. People tying to be heroes end up being dead heroes and they end up in the process getting innocent people hurt by their actions, if they would have just let the professionals do their job as they did today in Tulelake and no was hurt or hurt accidentally by other peoples' interference in an area that was not their concern; but the concern of law enforcement to do their job, "if" you would let them. They have the experience and knowledge and you do not. They are the professionals and you are not.
It was best to just go about your business and not let the fear of others cause you distress by not allowing law enforcement do their job without your involvement.
Nice job Tulelake, CA those that heeded and followed law enforcement instructions and that is why no one was hurt or killed by someone with no experience; except owning a fire arm for their own personal use for defending their homes, not going and looking for suspects that they were not authorized to do, but felt they had a right or civic duty to do so. Wrong! Let the professionals do their job and that way no one gets hurt and they can clear the situation much faster without you running around with a loaded firearm, to make a controllable situation where your actions not only put them in danger, it puts other innocent bystanders in danger because of your poor judgment in a dangerous situation.
