There was then a moment of pause as the city council was getting ready to go into closed session due to Ramon Alonso had not arrived yet. But moments before the closed session was to start Ramon Alonso had entered the chambers and that put the agenda back in it’s normal listed agenda items as item #5 with the Discussion and Action on the Break-in- at Vallarta Grocery and the follow up from Chief of Police, Tony Ross.
Note: Due to the recent fire in Weed, CA. I have been dealing with some of those issues.

Tony Ross interrupts and says that the gang situation was not part of the agenda but he would discuss it during Department Head updates at the end of the meeting with more on our safety.
Roman: Parents are worrying about this situation…
Tony Ross: I have been dealing with this for six months by myself. Seven days a week.

#9 Department Head comments
Tony Ross during the Department Updates made the following comments:
Tony Ross mentioned about the machete fight at the Fair Grounds and where shots were fired in town other shootings and a drive by complaint with 40 vials of Meth. “It’s difficult”.
Where Tony says he clears one and then has five more, believing to be between groups of kids involved. Where they break in and steal nothing. Confession of one, then cop to another burglary where they do not belong here; but are from the Newell area coming here to Tulelake. Where Tony Ross mentioned, “Anyone that drives into this town is welcome here. It is a problem. It is what it is”. Tony Ross said.
"Where there has been a bad pool of candidates for Tulelake Police officers applying for the job in Tulelake as police officers. You address the problem. General rule hit prime suspects. They break in out of boredom and the DOJ does nothing with the fingerprints. Print Examiner. It is just the nature of the beast these days. I assure you there are more important things than these kids. People are mostly from out of town that come here causing problems."
Other comment by Ramon: “Need more police to do the job with more respect. Yreka, three guys.” No comment from Tony Ross on discussion of gang’s arrest.
Ramon: We need more protection.
Tony Ross: Reliance on the DA is not working as they are arrested and released. It is not right! I do the best I can. Phone rings and Dar leaves to answer his cell phone.
