Tulelake, CA— Alone most of the time, but not lonely
“Writing is, by its basic nature, a solitary profession.” When as each day goes by I have to try and think about the next piece or story I am going to write about for that day or the next. Mostly, I make mental notes of what I am going to write about, and not always in the order, that I get the idea. Then, there are other stories I have started and want to get back to, but have not found the time. Then, there is the main web site I need to get back to it too and work on updating it.
In my case I am not just a writer I do many other tasks along the way. Most people are aware not only do I write the articles or stories but also have to edit them. Then after I write them in a word document I transfer the word document and copy and paste it to the blog, then I have to add the html code with links and pictures depending on the story. I like to use pictures from my picture library when I am writing stories about Tulelake, CA. I try and find new ones I want to use and not use the same ones over and over again.
I take walks sometimes to come with the idea for my next story or stories because if I am lucky I come up with more than one idea. Just think I have to do this everyday in order to keep people coming back for more. Along with the legal issues I have been dealing with all at the same time too. It’s like being a circus performer I am juggling a lot a balls all at the same time. Then also trying to have free time and spend it with friends in person or just on the Internet in a chat session with someone you care about and they care about you.
I also spend my day working on other projects helping to promote other people with their stuff and get it out there so they can be seen. That is part of what I am all about helping others to help them, then the rest is up to them to make their mark or go off on their own. Right now I have two people I am trying to help get their stuff out there and both of them are at different levels in their progress. In fact, I just met the second in last day or so. He has a lot of energy and excited with what he wants to do with or without me and that is good, but I need to help him to understand I am one person doing many jobs at the same time and I can’t just stop and deal with his stuff. I am very interested in what he is doing. Both are again, also doing different things in their lives.
One is already involved with a project and projects of his own that I have trying to get the word out about what he is doing and the second is into music and I will do what I can to help him. Both live in two different places, the first one is in a town I used to live in and is not more than an hour and half away. The second, is on the East Coast from what I gather. Both are at different levels in their endeavors.
After I add the html code I have to publish the article or story and then still go back through it once I have completed that task and fine tune it by editing it in the process of still writing it sometimes by adding or taking away things that should not be there or adding things that should be there. By this time I have had several people who have read it in the raw form as my work in progress and from the first time they visited and read to the next time it is not always the way it was the last time they read it.
Then, if the story or article is good enough from an editors point of view I add it to the main site, which is yet another process with html code putting in the right spot and adding and changing links, two copies of it. One as the main index page and the second one with a link name and they have to be uploaded to the main site, which is yet another time consuming task to get there too.
In the mean time when it is done share it on Twitter, and all three of my face book pages when I remember all three. Then spend time reading and liking other peoples stuff that they share on the main feed or what I come across on their pages and like their stuff to let them know I was there long enough to let them know I was there and that I care.
I have to keep writing stiff everyday in order to keep people coming back and for some of them if they did not have the time before the next time they come back they read something they did not have time to do the first time they were there, which helps to keep the number of daily hits up. But I find if I don’t at least write one story a day the number of hits go way down.
Like I said before, I juggle a lot of balls and I do it in soldiery confinement of my choosing, by spending time alone in a solitary profession of writing and working on my goals of having a Media production company with all the other stuff and areas that it consist of being. In other words, I am also in the public relations business too helping to promote others to fulfill their dreams and desires as I am trying and working hard on accomplishing my own at the same time as theirs.
Let's not forget, I still have daily chores to do too, along with everything else or grocery shopping locally or in Klamath Falls, OR when I get a ride to get there, as I have to be flexible like in everything else I do and work around their schedules and it means everyone I work with and on a personal level with my fiends too who I go shopping with them and their needs, and time, doing what they need to do first, and work my stuff into what I need to do, as not take away their time spending it on me or for me to be a burden on them.
Plus spending time watching a movie to try and break up my daily flexible schedule and that is my day 24/7.
