Tulelake, CA— Come December new council members will be sworn in
Will the city of Tulelake continue to work with Josh Egalite to have his company be able to lease the Water Tower in the city of Tulelake to place antennas and other equipment as necessary to provide another Internet Service Provider for the city of Tulelake? During the discussion Jerry King pointed out to and asked if he was the city council members would be changing at the next meeting of the Tulelake City Council. The agenda item was tabled until the new council is seated.
A new council will be sworn in at the December 1st, 2014 meeting of the city council with the departure of long time Council Member Dar Carroll, with appointed Jerry King who did not seek election for the seat he held. Outgoing Mayor Tom Cordonier who was voted in to take Randy Darrow’s place as mayor during the recall election back in June 2014. Where Randy Darrow stepped aside and became just a council member for the city of Tulelake, CA. Bob Hughbanks was then voted in as Pro Temp Mayor during that same time period.
Where Tom Cordonier lost his seat back to Richard Marcillac from the 2010 Elections. Henry A. Ebeinger, Kevin Nicholson and Richard Marcillac will be the next Tulelake City Council members on December 1st, 2014 at the Regular Tulelake City Council Meeting.
In other business Collier Interpretive and Information Center Board Member Robert L. Rice presented his proposal to the city of Tulelake City Council about the projects they have ahead and would like to know if the city of Tulelake may be interested in contributions to help off set the programs as being designated as a California Welcome Center. Plans are to update their web site with more user-friendly links. Other cities in Northern California have made contributions to their on going programs. CIIC wanted to give the city of Tulelake an opportunity to contribute if there are funds available in the future for this to be done by the city of Tulelake. No vote was taken at this time and the agenda item was tabled.
When the discussion took place on the placing of antennas and other equipment as necessary on the Water Tower in the city of Tulelake. A leak was discover in the Water Tower by the Director of Public Works, Brett that needed the signature of the present Mayor, Tom Cordonier so the work could begin with repairing the leak ASAP and the entire city council gave Tom Cordonier the authority to sign that emergency document.
All other Resolutions were passed on the agenda for November 17, 2014.
