Everybody is wrong, but you

Tulelake, CA— Pro and Con

Sometimes people think that they are the only one with the correct answer and you don’t know what you are talking about. They are right and you are wrong.

It happens everyday rather it be on a news show, radio broadcast, news story comment section, or facebook. Over the years I have learned to avoid the debate as it is a waste of my time and sometimes you even lose friends that way. So it is best to avoid debating at all. You are not going to solve anything. If you want to discuss things, discuss things you do agree with and leave the rest alone. You are not going to solve the worlds problems, less well your own by getting all round up most of the time, over nothing.

It is not worth it, or at least for me. Been there, done that with complete strangers over the years. After a while a group begins to form and you choose sides, pro and con and it never ends.

It is just like family there are just some things people need to agree to disagree on and move on. If you could accomplish something through your discussion’s and debates that would be a good thing but rarely does that ever happen or transpire. Religion and politics are two areas that unless you are actually out in the field making a difference they are subjects that are best left alone.

It is one thing to have an opinion, it is quite another to be involved and actually be making a difference with your time. By that I mean, if you are out in the trenches working towards making a difference of what you believe in, then you have more authority as your actions are speaking louder, than you words.

But to simply have a debate or discussion on things you disagree with in the forums like mentioned above, you are wasting your time. When that time could be spent more productively by putting actions to where your words are, by accomplishing something. Not saying that words are not important, because they are, it just depends how they are used.

You can send information that you want to share with others all day long. I am guilty of that very thing. But if you do not send more informative background on what you want others to know and become aware of, you are wasting your time and those that you send it to. I send or share things that most times people are aware of, or have an opinion on or to share something that is new to everyone, including me.

When I sit down to write a piece my intention is not so much to be right or wrong but to share information on a subject that most times we can all agree on without any debate or further discussion, other than to agree to disagree, and go on.

I try to keep my points short, sweet and to the point and not go off on a tangent that will lead us down a path that no one really wants to go down, nor spend time doing it. It is not important, as some people like to think, that they are always right and you are always wrong depending on your religious or political point of view.

So the next time this happens to you, my advice is to delete the conflict before people’s blood rushes to their heads and they end up doing something they regret and cannot take back now.

The question all of us need to ask ourselves is, “is it really worth it, the time and effort to prove I am right and you are wrong?”

Something to think about.

Good day!
