Tulelake, CA— Emotions
Writing is a solitary kind of life where the joy comes from others reading what you write. As writers we write about many things and subjects and sometimes all those things do tend to eat at us. We get emotional too.
Wondering if we have done all that we can do and why is it up to me to make the difference. Why can’t other people step up and let their voices be known and heard. I hear a few voices in the background but it is not enough. If people want change then they have to do their part too and not leave it up to just a few to make a difference. They have responsibility to stand up and say, “Hey, enough already”.
I mean each day in the news there are so many sad things going on that are just unreal how other humans would hurt each other the way they do. Shoot I was even told that I have psychotic tendencies in my writing. Why, because I can write better than they can and explain things in the written word they are unable to do. I have that gift, so call it psychotic tendencies if you must. But if you were to ask them how many things they have written they would have to confess, “not much”, if anything at all.
Some people seem to think that writing is an easy task and that anybody can do it. Really? Is that true? Anybody can write? Think so huh? If that is true then why don’t more people spend time doing it? It is because not just anybody can write. It takes a special kind of person to sit down and write and write and write. In fact, the more a person does write the better they become at what they do.
It has taken me a lifetime to be the kind of writer I am today. It just didn’t happen over night. It is a gift for some of us. Sure I am not famous, but that is not the point. The point is I can express in words what I want to say and what I want others to feel along with me as I write.
Over the years I have learned to take a subject, start it out and in one page or less I have written enough information down for someone to read that when they are done they have grasped something from the point I was trying to make. Writing also helps to get things off our chest so to speak.
I started this piece with the feeling of being disillusioned but I am not disillusioned at all now. You see I got my point across at the very beginning and that is people need to stand up for what they believe in and not leave it up to just one person to make the difference when they can join in and make the difference too. So what are you waiting for, stop leaving it up to one person to make the difference if you are unwilling to do your part by speaking out and saying, “enough already, let’s go”.
I will be waiting to see if you do or if like a lot of other people you are just talk with no action.
One page.
