A mother's love

We all know what it is like to have a mother's love. Mothers always wish the best for their children, but when their child is sick and in need of things they cannot provide. They do everything in their power to get the word out about their loving child, in hopes, you can love them, as much as they do.

Taking care of a sick child is no easy task. It is filled with heartache and pain of seeing their child suffer with their pain to stay alive. The emotional roller coaster can take the strength from any normal person. But to sit back day in and day out and watch your child suffer because he does not have the things to make his painful life as it is, more comfortable.

When we don't have the means, we reach out to others for their loving kindness and through hope and prayers that there will be others that can help us.

Here are a few words from a special child's mother, Laurie: "My beautiful 14 year old special needs son Ethan was born with a rare fatal seizure gene which causes him to be like a newborn baby mentally and physically. He's blind, He has Chronic Cerebral Palsy, he has one normal size lung and one baby size (1-2 ribs).

With him being in so much pain he likes lying down in the car seat so I have to recline the seat back for him so he's more comfortable. There's not a lot of room for him since he's almost 5' tall. We need a bigger mini van with lots of leg room so he can stretch out. He needs a Special needs car seat that is very soft and comfortable not like the hard one he has now and screams in pain due to it. He can also use a new hospital bed with lots of room for him to stretch out and with a special air mattress to prevent skin break down and bed sores. We can also use a new special needs wheelchair for him with lots of cushion and soft arm rails cause the one he has now bruises his arms and legs cause it's so hard.

We can also use a generator for when the electricity goes out cause he needs his bi pap machine and oxygen concentrator and his Intravenous pumps for his meds and Tpn Intravenous Food and his suction machine and Vest Therapy machine.

Ethan's my Hero and Inspiration to never give up because he overcame so many challenges and obstacles to stay here with me and make my life more beautiful every second I'm with him and I owe it to him to make what time he has left in his beautiful world more comfortable without being in pain. He's my hopes and dreams. He's the wind beneath my wings and I have to try to make his Wish come true."

Here is a beautiful song that was written by Laurie, Ethan's mother when Ethan was in the hospital 6 years ago.

"Child Life asked me what my last wish is for him before he passes away. The Doctors told me to start planning his funeral. So I wrote him a poem to read to him at it and my guitar teacher Charles Russello and his lovely wife put it to music and she sang it. I'm so beyond thankful that my beautiful miracle fought to stay here with me and make my life more beautiful every second.
