Klamath Falls, OR—Donald Trump tweets he’ll work with Russia on cybersecurity, then attacks Democrats and Obama. What is wrong with this dude? Trump is a traitor, period.
"Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded.."
And most Americans, save a few people including the President of the United States, are confident that Putin led the Russian intervention into the American election and into many other elections around the world.
President Obama booted out nearly three dozen spies in December and closed two compounds, and there are many, from both parties, calling for an additional round of sanctions on Russia.
And instead of presenting evidence during his meeting with President Putin and making clear that he would stand with Democrats and Republicans and the leading intelligence agencies, Trump accepted the assurances of Putin all while smiling in front of the cameras. And the Russians have photos -- that they are already expertly spreading around the Internet -- to prove it.
The meeting will be interpreted by many of Trump's critics as a sign that Russia will pay no real price for an alleged attempt to help defeat Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Having Russia and the US work together is treason. Why would we work together on cybersecurity? It makes no sense, what is the matter with Trump? And anyone who keeps supporting this traitor.
Yeah, we are going to work with the Russians on cybersecurity to protect us from the Russians. Trump is nuts.
"Top Republican senators on Sunday immediately mocked President Donald Trump’s suggestion that he could work with Russia on cybersecurity matters. “Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded and safe,” Trump tweeted. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, responded on Twitter: “Partnering with Putin on a ‘Cyber Security Unit’ is akin to partnering with Assad on ‘Chemical Weapons Unit.’” South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, who has been very critical of Trump on his tweeting habits and foreign affairs generally, said working with Putin to combat cyber crimes is “pretty close” to “the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.”"
A senior Senate Republican on Sunday said President Trump’s plan to work with Russia on cybersecurity is “pretty close” to the “dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) called Trump’s Friday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin “disastrous” and said the president has a “blind spot” on Russia
Following his G20 Summit meeting with Russia President Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump returned to Twitter on Sunday morning, proclaiming that he would begin working with Putin on cybersecurity. Much of the internet, including a number of GOP lawmakers, had an immediate response, and almost none of it was positive.
Not everybody, though, disagreed that Trump’s plan to partner with Putin was a bad move. For instance, former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said that after Trump discussed the issue with Putin—and remember, Putin said Saturday that Trump agreed with Russia’s denial that it had meddled in the presidential election—the Russia story is now over.
Considering Trump is still under numerous investigations, Lewandowski’s statement is likely just wishful thinking, even if Trump’s heart really is set on working with Putin.
GOP lawmakers blast Trump for aligning with Putin on cybersecurity
Corey Lewandowski said Sunday the Russian election meddling "issue is officially dead" after President Trump discussed the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their closed-door meeting at the G-20 summit.
"Now, the president is taking this issue directly to the president of Russia and raised it, so now I think the issue is officially dead," Lewandowski, who served as Trump's campaign manager, said on "Fox & Friends."
Lewandowski: Russian election meddling ‘issue is officially dead’
On Sunday morning, President Trump spoke of his new alliance with Russian President Vladimir Putin to erect an “impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded.”
This, the president tweeted at 7:31 a.m., came after Putin “vehemently denied” hacking the 2016 U.S. election. The tweet's timing could not have been more perfect — for congressional critics of Trump's new plan.
Trump suggested a cybersecurity pact with Russia. Lawmakers say they were ‘dumbfounded.’
