Klamath Falls, OR—Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory
This story is personal for me because my Mom is buried at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in the Garden of the Good Shepard lot 2 B 2 space A. And when my time comes I will be inturned there too. My Mom has been there since February 2007, after she passed away on February 22, 2007, in Redding, CA, in Mercy Hospital five days before her 83rd Birthday on February 27, 1924. I had her flown from Alturas, CA where we were living at the time with a 50/50 chance she would survive, but she didn't. She was 30 years older than me when I was born in 1954. In fact, when I had the headstone made I forgot to put on the headstone Mother and Son as people walking by and looking at the headstone might think I was her much younger husband. So I need to fix that as soon as I can.
But in the meantime, I filed with the state on what Eternal Hills owes me back for charging me for things that by law they were not allowed to. I found all this out after I contacted Brenda Brigg the Compliance Specialist at (971) 673-1501. Brenda Brigg did a great job helping me. Where I had lost my copy of the contract from Eternal Hills and she found it and gave me the information over the phone and mailed copies of everything I needed to file a claim with the state of Oregon. Which I have done now with the help of Brenda Brigg.
Then most recently I noticed there was a Facebook post called, "Cemetery Clean Up Party! Public · Hosted by Fit for Life with Shaleen
Details:
"Hey all! I am going to host a cemetery clean up party at Eternal Hills! They no longer have groundskeepers and the grass and weeds are getting pretty bad.
If you are willing to come help or have tools you're willing to lend (riding lawn mowers will be greatly appreciated!) Or are willing to just share this so that others may join if they would like! We're going to start at 8am and go until its all done!"
Thank you in advance!π

At this time I want to give Shaleen Drake-Holbrook a big thank you for starting this project and all the people who volunteered to help with this project. For those of us who were unable to be there with you due to other commitments, but our hearts and souls were with you as you cleaned up Eternal Hills where we have relatives and friends buried there too. And some of us will be buried there someday too.

It was my honor! I was so touched to see SO many people show up for this on a long weekend. My wife Kris and I have multiple family members out there and had been trying to clean as much as possible when we went out there on our own but the job was just too big for two people. That is when I had the idea to post the event and truly thought I might get a hand full of people which I was going to be very happy with. The actual response was something I'd never even dreamed of! I cannot put into words how amazing it was to have so many people come out to help. Especially since the owner of the property reportedly wanted us all arrested for trespassing. Thank you so much for sharing this and I want to say again and again how very grateful I am for every single person who came out to help, donated/lent tools. I want to say a very special thank you to my friends and family who not only gave their time but lent me their riding lawn mowers to speed up this task. I cannot again find the words to tell you what this means to me except that I am just so very grateful and my heart is so full that so many people came out to care about making this a nice resting place. People brought flowers, flags for veterans, water, food, the list is really endless. THANK YOU to all of you that helped and I am so glad we were able to make this happen!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your great comment, I feel blessed by it. But this story should not have been done by me. Not that I would not have done it anyway regardless but I am just a blog with Pageviews last month

I just happen to have 3 blogs, 5 Facebook pages and one website that I also posted this story on it too. But this is a story I really feel the Herald and News should have done. They are the Pros I am just an amateur in comparison, but I do work hard getting the truth out and have just recently started doing the local stories of interest, as well as the National Stories I have been doing for years that I do too at the same time.
I first started doing local news stories in Tulelaake, CA, but ran up against city politics where some people did not like the fact that I said it like it is. They caused me a lot of problems but that is another story for another time, but people in Tulelake, CA, know the truth as to what I went through and the people who caused me problems. I don't have to mention their names as all of Tulelake, CA, know exactly who they are without me mentioning their names.
I have lived in Klamath Falls, OR for almost 3 years now. But I just laid low, but now I am out and about writing local stories as many as I can as time will allow as I do all of this myself as a community service. I could have changed my name but that would have meant I would have to start over. I am known as "Tulelake News", even though I now live in Klamath Falls, OR.
And if you have some time you can find many of my most recent stories for Klamath Falls, OR , starting back in April, 2018. Here is the first local story I did. "Spring Fling, 2018 dinner for democratic candidates in Klamath Falls, OR"
https://tulelakenews.blogspot.com/2018/04/spring-fling-2018-dinner-for-democritic.html
I want to thank you and your wife for the hard work you guys did, along with everyone else who helped you to accomplished exactly what all of you have done for the rest of us who were unable to be there for one reason or the other.
Thanks again,
