Trump said he wants American people to give him the same sort of attention North Korean people are forced to give Kim Jong Un. Ali Velshi explains the kinds of atrocities North Korean people face every day because of their leader. Weighing in: Malcolm Nance and Geoff
Klamath Falls, OR— Trump thinks he is a king and wants the US to stand at attention like North Koreans do, and Trump is not joking as he claims he is doing. The Department of Justice’s independent watchdog, the inspector general, has released a report that is critical of F.B.I. director James Comey during the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email account. The report concludes that the F.B.I.’s completion of the investigation without coordinating with the attorney general and that failure to inform Congress in late October that the F.B.I. had reopened the investigation.
"In both situations, the inspector general’s team concludes, I should have adhered to established norms, which they see as mandating both deferences to the attorney general on the public announcement and silence about an investigation so close to an election." Comey said.
This report is important for two reasons.
"First, the inspector general’s team went through the F.B.I.’s work with a microscope and found no evidence that bias or improper motivation affected the investigation, which I know was done competently, honestly and independently." Said Comey.
"The report also resoundingly demonstrates that there was no prosecutable case against Mrs. Clinton, as we had concluded. Although that probably will not stop some from continuing to claim the opposite is true, this independent assessment will be useful to thoughtful people and an important contribution to the historical record."
Second, this report is vital in shedding light for future leaders on the nature and quality of our investigation and the decisions we made.
The inspector general’s office has now reached that very conclusion. Its detailed report should serve to both protect and build the reservoir of trust and credibility necessary for the Department of Justice and the F.B.I. to remain strong and independent and to continue their good work for our country.
Our nation’s institutions of justice are up to the task of protecting the rule of law and defending truth and transparency. All of us should stand up and support them.
Trump says he wants US to stand at attention like North Koreans do for Kim Jong Un.
Donald Trump said Friday he wants Americans to sit up at attention as North Koreans do for dictator Kim Jong Un, later adding that he was joking.
"He's the head of the country," Trump said of Kim Friday during a live interview on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "And I mean he's the strong head. Don't let anyone think anything different."
During an impromptu appearance on ‘Fox & Friends’ on June 15, President Trump said he would not support a compromise immigration bill, called James B. Comey a “criminal” and said the FBI IG report was a “horror show.”
"He speaks and his people sit up at attention," the President added. "I want my people to do the same."
Later Friday, Trump told reporters at the White House his remark was a joke.
"I was kidding," he said. "You don't understand sarcasm."
When Trump refers to the law the Democrats made, Trump has yet to state where that law is located or anyone else for that matter. The talking heads keep bringing up this so-called law that the Democrats passed, yet not one of them has stated where that law is located. Even after a web search, no such law exists as claimed, not only by Trump but his talking heads. It is not a law, it is Trump policy.
