A new CBS News poll shows 59% of Americans think weed should be legal. Alyson Martin is co-founder of Cannabis Wire and co-author of "A New Leaf: The End of Cannabis Prohibition." She joined CBSN to discuss the legalization movement and the challenges marijuana businesses are facing.
Klamath Falls, OR— Religion needs to stay out of the people's business.
“We, the voters, of Klamath, have already said no, but like a toddler whining for a treat, the petition keeps coming back". It seems you are the toddler Rev. Steve Flecken" an ordained minister of The Wesleyan Church and chaplain at the Klamath Falls Gospel Mission."
I would rather deal with a homeless pot smoker on the streets, than a homeless drunk. Yet, you seem to approve of alcohol. Why? Because it is legal for recreational purposes and Pot is not.
"Whoa! High or sober, that is positively fascist. Why even bother with the November ballot if Mr. Medina and his supporters know better than the voters what is good for Klamath?"
Well, it seems you Rev. Steve Flecken are the one claiming you know better than the voters of Klamath Falls. The last I checked you do not represent all the voters of Klamath Falls. Yet, you seem to think you speak for the rest of us. In fact, you don't even hold an office or have been voted in to represent the voters, but you Rev. Steve Flecken seem to claim you do as "We the voters".
"Will the new Gospel Mission facility be “good or bad?” Medina asks, ominously hinting at the worst. Well, many local businesses, churches, individuals, and charitable foundations who supported the project as well as the community leaders, aid agencies, and non-profits that provide assistance to the needy under the Klamath Works umbrella all seem to agree the Mission’s goals of Rescue, Recovery, and Renewal will be well served in the new facility."
This is not about Pot, but rather how much money you can rake in for your personal project Rev. Steve Flecken that you now seem to have let go to your head and your ego won't allow other POV to or facts get in your way. Typical when one cannot provide "facts" they resort to misstatements and falsehoods to try and win their argument at all costs even if they have to lie to do it. And you call yourself a Reverand, Rev. Steve Flecken?
"But we didn’t write to address the benefits of sobriety, job-training, or spiritual and physical well-being for individuals and the community as a whole; the question today is whether increased access to recreational marijuana will benefit our town."
Who appointed you judge, jury, and God Rev. Steve Flecken?
"You can ask anyone who has ever struggled with substance abuse and addiction when they started, and most will recall it was during their teen years or earlier." But, for some reason you leave out the alcohol factor, once again typical and misleading.
"Frankly, I cannot believe we are having this discussion again. We, the voters, of Klamath, have already said no, but like a toddler whining for a treat, the petition keeps coming back. Do we give in to the demands or are we responsible enough to stick to the right decision? Again?" " We, the voters, of Klamath"
Once again who appointed you representative of Klamath Falls, the last I checked you do not hold that office or title, nor were you voted in to do so.
Stop the nonsense Rev. Steve Flecken and start helping everyone and not the ones you choose to because of the God almighty dollar, you hypocrite.
