Even Jesus would not approve of children in cages

Hundreds of Immigrant Children Wait in Cages

The AP toured a holding facility in South Texas that's holding hundreds of immigrant children. While reporters were not allowed to record the tour, video released by border patrol shows them waiting in a series of cages created by metal fencing. (June 18)

Klamath Falls, OR—New Trump admin order for separated parents: Leave U.S. with kids or without them.

The Trump administration has instructed immigration agents to give those parents two options: leave the country with your kids — or leave the country without them.

The new directive does not allow parents who were separated from their children under Trump's "zero tolerance" policy to reunite with their children while they await a decision on asylum, a protection sought by thousands of migrant families fleeing violence in Central America.

Asylum law dictates that immigrants should be allowed to make an asylum claim before a judge even if they have been given an order of deportation. Immigration rights advocates say forcing parents to choose immediately between leaving the country with or without their children means they are effectively prevented from asking for asylum.

A child should never be held hostage to force a parent to relinquish their legal right to seek asylum. But that is what is happening right now.

They flee terrifying violence in Central America and arrive in a country that barbarically rips children from parents. For uprooted families crossing the border illegally, rattled by family separation and whatever horrors they may have experienced at home, the current Trump administration policy is to add one more crushing blow in the president’s campaign to make America great again.

About 2,000 children have been separated from their parents, and there have been stories of children in cages and toddlers crying. You risk everything to get to the promised land only to find out its just another prison. These are children, not political pawns.

But this country has no room to lecture the world on greatness, virtue or morality as long as we’re the ugly, heartless barbarians who turn our backs to humanitarian crises and tear traumatized children from the arms of their parents.

Wheather you are a Christian or not this policy is not right. It is cruel and inhumane.

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

Anybody claiming to be a Christian and supporting this policy cannot be much of a Christian, nor any church that supports this policy. Even Jesus would not approve of children in cages. If you do you are nothing more than a hypocrite.

"THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW"

"I was a refugee and immigrant from Central America and you..."

What does the Bible say about welcoming immigrants? Twenty Christian leaders read the words of Matthew 25, when Jesus tells his followers, "I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

"I was a stranger, and you welcomed me."
