False Fire Alarm by Pranksters

KLAMATH FALLS, OR— Fire alarms pulled by pranksters

Pranksters pulled fire alarms and stole a fire extinguisher in an apartment building on N 5th Street late this evening. It shocked quit a few of the apartment tenants. As the blaring sound of the alarms went on quite sometime before the Fire Department was able to shut them off.

Firemen had to break into an electrical room in-order to get to the electrical panel to shut off the power to the fire alarms. As there was no other way into the electrical room without breaking the door open. Someone super glued the electrical room door shut.

Pranksters broke open the fire extinguisher box and removed one of the fire extinguishers and broke the glass on the second floor. Broke the glass on the third floor but left the fire extinguisher alone. And on the first floor the fire extinguisher seemed to be left alone and with no damage to it, or the glass.

The video siveillance cameras have been removed months ago, so there was no security video footage available of the pranksters, otherwise they would have been caught on the video during their mayhem. The firemen shut the fire alarms off and suggested that there be a fire watch by someone walking all the halls every 30 minutes in case of a fire. Then, in the future the owners will have to have a fire technician fix the fire alarms and repace the broken glass and replace the stolen fire extinguisher.

Mike one of the tenants and a student at Oregon Institute of Technology explained to the Fireman what he knew about the pranksters and the fire extinguishers. While the building maintenance man assisted the fireman with the electrical room door and panel for the fire alarms, while speaking with the owner of the building on the phone. Rookstool is the management company responsible for the building.

In the mean time a police report was filed about the mayhem and pranksters damage to the apartment complex on N. 5th Street in Klamath Falls, OR.

Anyone with information should contact the Klamath Falls Police Department with any information about the theft and prank, and who may have been involved. They have now put the tenants in danger due to their prank by pulling the alarm and breaking the glass and removing one of the fire extinguishers on the second floor of the apartment building.
