KLAMATH FALLS, OR— Seniors and the Disabled Fear Eviction
It is one thing to fear aging as seniors grow older. But to have a fear of being threatened of being evicted by management is yet another thing entirely. Management of this apartment complex has been using intimidation and coercion for years and been getting away it.
One case imparticular where management was given permission to enter a tenants apartment to work on a kitchen sink. But management without the tenants permission took pictures of the apartment and sent them to the brother of the tenant of a bottle of alcohol in the apartment to use it as a threat of eviction against the tenant.
Management sent the pictures as a form of coercion. In fact, in the picture you can see the arm of the management personal in the picture he took, and used the pictures as coercion against the tenant to put brother against brother in the situation to try, and gain control over the tenant, and use it as a form of holding the pictures over the tenants head for future intimidation.
The tenant only gave management permission to repair the kitchen sink and nothing more in the way of taking pictures of his apartment under false pretenses.
The abuses have been reported to a US Senators office for further review and an investigation to be immensed and information forwarded to HUD for their investigation into this apartment buildings abuse of seniors and the disabled.
Where the elevator in this building that was built back in the 1960's is constantly breaking down and in need of repair. In fact, it has been mentioned numinous times in their news letter that all the tenants are given copies of it about all the repairs being made to the elevator in the past and most recently.
This has been an on going and continuing story of the abuse that has been going on for years at this apartment complex. Where one Klamath Falls Police office keeps giving management legal advice to management without being an attorney at law. However, if you give bad advice while you are a police officer this could open you up to civil litigation and that may just happen in the near future for this police officer.
(iii) To assure that no member of the household engages in an abuse or pattern of abuse of alcohol that affects the health, safety, or right to peaceful enjoyment of the premises by other residents.
No where does it say anything about alcohol consumption or possession is prohibited according to U.S. Code of Federal Regulations
The only thing it says is the following: (iii) To assure that no member of the household engages in an abuse or pattern of abuse of alcohol that affects the health, safety, or right to peaceful enjoyment of the premises by other residents.
This makes for an interesting situation, which needs further investigation for clarification, as to rather the house rules, are legal or not, according to PHA programs.
