Klamath Falls— Filings for commissioner position are three candidates. Include former Klamath Falls Police Chief Dave Henslee, former Klamath Falls mayoral candidate James Garland, and Todd Gessele, who owns a media production company.
“I am really excited by all the opportunities that are in front of Klamath now. My great hope would be that the next representative comes in and they really want to represent a com-munity full of opportunity that is really growing and poised to do great things.” Kelley Minty Morris, Klamath County Commissioner. "Boyd’s departure will not disrupt county business, as county government requires only two commissioners to reach a quorum."
Commissioner Derrick DeGroot said he hopes his future coworker will have strong ties to the community and be invested in doing good work.
Todd Gessele apparently has switched his orginal intentions to run for the Commissioner Position 1, in lew of his orginal application dated Dec 8, 2021 for Commissioner Postition 2. Todd Gessele made an Amendment to his orignal application on Jan 6, 2022 to the Commiss-ioner 1 Postion dated and recieved and filed instead.
And the folllowing from Todd Gessele ELECT TODD GESSELE website where Todd Gessele states he is running on the theme: "So Klamath Rises". Where Todd Gessele states. "I'm not sure just what my super powers as commissioner will be."
Todd and Gioni Gessele moved to Klamath Falls in May 11 of 2021. Six days before a redsident has to be in the county one year prior to an election. Todd and Gioni Gessele relocated from Laurelwood, Oregon. Laurelwood is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon. The community is located southwest of the Portland metropolitan area near Oregon Route 47 along Laurelwood Road, to the east of the city of Gaston and Wapato Lake. Laurelwood, a farming community, and has a population of approximately 500 people.
After reading the artical in the Herald and News, the candidate James Garland decided to follow suit and follow Todd Gessele's lead and switch County Commision seats too from County Commissioner Position 1 to Commissioner Position 2 from the orginal application dated and filed on Dec 9, 2021 and filed an Amen- dment dated Jan 12, 2022.
A change of plans for James C. Garland in the Primary Election set for May 17, 2022 to run for the occupied seat of Kelley Minty Morris, chair of the Klamath County Board of Commissioner's who is an incumbent for the last two terms.
