Climate Solutions 25th Anniversary
Tomorrow I will be leaving on Amtrak from Klamath Falls, Oregon to Porland, Oregon to attend the 25th Annual meeting for the Climate Solutions 25th Anniversary Reception.
Friday, September 15, 5pm-7pm at SERA Architects (600 SW 10th Avenue, Suite 500, Portland, in the Galleria Building.
This will be the first trip for me anywhere in years. The last time I was on Amtrak was when I was returning from the Big Island, Oceanview, HI and on my way back to the mainland on United Airlines. Where I lived there for 4 months back in 2015, and it just became too expensive for me to keep living there. On the island of paradise as some refer Hawaii to be.
After my single bypass heart surgery in Feb of this year where I spent 30 days in Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. And from what I have been told I had a heart attack after being flown up from Sky Lakes Medical Center.
All I remember is being flown from Sky Lakes Medical Center to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center. Where I was put into a room and the only thing, I recall is having dinner. The rest is a fog.
Until I woke up in ICU 18 days later. I have been told that I died, but I don’t remember a thing about those 18 days in ICU. All I know is I am still here and on Sept 5th turned 69 years old. Born at 6:08 AM in Long Beach, CA at St. Mary Medical Center in 1954.
It has been a long hard road up to this point to be blessed enough to still be alive to maybe make it a few more decades, God willing.
God has a reason for me, and I still don’t know what it is. But what is truly sad is when I see people younger than I am pass away. It saddens me to no end. It is sad to say the least. We only live once from what I heard and understand and for me money means absolutely nothing to me and never has.
Others that is all they strive for, that God Almighty dollar at all costs. No matter what it takes or how much personal time they throw on the pursuit of what they think will bring them happiness. I would rather be poor and happy, than rich and sad. And you don’t have to have money to have class.
My mother was blessed enough to make it to 5 days before her 83rd birthday. I was her fulltime caregiver from 2000 until she passed away on Feb 22, 2007, in Alturas, CA.
Where I was a substitute teacher for the Modoc Unified School District, but they had to call me the day before so I could find someone to take care of my mom while working a day to get a break and a bit of respite from my everyday routine. Which I got very little of any kind of respite during that time. No help at all from so called family. My mother had Demetia and that was tough and sad for both of us.
Well time to finish packing and to go on my first trip anywhere in years.
