Catching Amtrak on last day in Portland, Oregon

Well, the last day in Portland has arrived and it is time to check out and catch a taxi to Union Station downtown Portland, Oregon.

Now it is just a matter of checking out today and catching the Amtrak back to Klamath Falls, Oregon. This is the last of the two days spent on this trip up to Portland for two days and now heading back home to Klamath Falls, Oregon on the Amtrak at around 2 PM this afternoon.

The taxi has arrived, and the driver is now loading all my suitcases for the 7-hour trip back home again to Klamath. It has been a very interesting two days in downtown Portland, Oregon.

I met allot of new friends while I was Out and About in downtown Portland, Oregon. And took quite a few pictures while I was here to use in my story about this trip from Klamath to Portland now Portland to Klamath.

Now it is just a matter of getting to Union Station downtown Portland and checking in my bag and waiting for the train to arrive heading south.

It most certainly has been an adventure up to this point now and an adventure of getting on board the Amtrak and getting seated in the lower section as it is too hard for me to climb up and down the stairs up and down from the coach section on the train.

I always have to have a lower section because it is also closer to the restrooms on board the train and I am sure for others my age too at 69 years old. As we get older going up and downstairs is not as easy as it was when we were younger.

After a little bit of wait it was time to board and once the train arrived and was in an area for boarding it was a struggle to get in-between both trains sitting on the tracks.

I was getting winded just trekking down the center section between the two trains on the tracks as I was huffing and puffing to get on board the train.

I could hear an all a board in the distance as I had not quite made it down there yet. I was beginning to get out of breath and had to stop to catch my breath.

I waved at the Conductors to wait as I was getting closer but yet still not there at the rear of the train where I would be sitting, like a caboose but instead the very rear of the Amtrak train heading south and did not want to be left behind that is for sure.
