Discussions with leaders centered around Measure 110, which decriminalized certain amounts of hard drugs starting in 2021.

Senate Majority Leader Kate Lieber, a Democrat, says the measure provided needed funding for addiction treatment.

“Measure 110 invested a lot of money into the system, and that was a good thing,” she said. “It was a system that needed to make sure that we had enough money to set up treatment, and that takes a long time.”

Data from the CDC shows that in 2020, about 800 Oregonians died from drug overdoses. In 2021, that number went up to almost 1,200.

“You’re going to hear over and over again, ‘This needs more time.’ How many more deaths need to happen?” said Helfrich. “How many more families need to be broken? How much more destruction do we need in our society before we say enough is enough?”

State Rep. Reschke urges Gov. Kotek to call special session to repeal Measure 110.

“Every day Ballot Measure 110 remains in place, more addicts are created and more people die," Reschke said in a news release. "The evidence is clearly seen by the explosion of homelessness and despair throughout the state. It’s obvious to most that Measure 110 has been an abject policy failure.

On December 11, 2020, Reschke and 11 other state Republican officials signed a letter requesting Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum join Texas and other states contesting the results of the 2020 presidential election in Texas v. Pennsylvania. Rosenblum announced she had filed in behalf of the defense, and against Texas, the day prior.

What is it with you idiots on the Right? You don't mind the taxpayers paying for your salary while you are not doing your job and running away from voting, while the taxpayers pay for your salary, you free loader.

But you whine about a nickel increase in the tax for the Museums. Run along as the adults are here to tell you to take a seat as it is up for grabs and I may be the one to take it, E. Werner Reschke you cheapskate, just like the rest of your party. Useless!

Complain about handouts but you sure love living off the taxpayers' dollars, and we don't hear you complain about that except for wanting a raise for doing nothing to support the citizens in Klamath County as you do.

Your days are number if I have anything to say about it and I do.

Would you like some more crackers with your whine there, E. Werner Reschke, free loader?

Give me a break, free loader E Werner Reschke who runs away from doing his job on the taxpayer's dime.
