What a major blunder and waste of taxpayer money by the City and County of Klamath

The City and County of Klamath approved an F-15 Jet to be placed in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

What were they thinking? I tell you what they were thinking, tourist dollars that is what they were thinking. They were not thinking about the Veterans they claim they were thinking about or wanting to represent when they passed and approved the constructing of the F-15 Jet in the in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

What I would and others would like to know is who is the person who was the brainchild who came up with the idea of putting an F-15 in the Veterans Memorial Park?

And to date the City and County of Klamath have yet to answer which City Council Members and County Commissioners' on record voted for or against the F-15 Jet in Veterans Memorial Park on record voted for or against the F-15 Jet in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon. What are the City and County of Klamath hiding? You would think they would be proud of the decision they made by putting a F-15 in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

So why the silence and no response to a simple question as to who approved putting a F-15 in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

You would think the City and County of Klamath would be yelling to high heaven about this great accomplishment where there are plans in the works to have a great celebration of this very fact by putting a F-15 in Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

You would think by now not only would the City and County of Klamath be promoting this very event, is it even listed on up-and-coming events in the Community of Klamath County yet? Why or why not? And where?

Move to authorize the City Manager to execute Contract Amendment #1 with Modoc Contracting, Inc. for the Static F-15 Jet Display Project in the not-to-exceed amount of $512,575.

Motion by Abbie McClung, second by Mika Blain. Final Resolution: Motion CarriesYes: Phil Studenberg, Mika Blain, Terra Russo, Abbie McClung, Kelsey Mueller Wendt.

Since the plot of land the jet was intended for is technically an easement from local nonprofit WingWatchers to the city and county, members of the nonprofit frequently spoke out against the project.

Placement of the jet on the park’s amphitheater is expected to reduce the overall cost, according to city records. According to the amended contract with Modoc Construction, the guaranteed maximum price, or GMP, for the jet display project came in at $512,575.

With $300,000 from federal American Rescue Plan Act funds allocated by both city and county government, the relocated project is well within the expected budget. The adjusted completion date of the project is spring of 2024.
