Thanksgiving Day 2024 6 AM to Noon 102.7 FM

Twenty-two months ago, I was given a second chance to live again. I was 68 years old then in the month of February 2023 and in Medford Reginal Hospital where I was flown up on an emergency helicopter for a heart bypass surgery.

Since that time, I have lost allot of weight from 200 plus pounds down to 177 pounds, exactly on the nose. Spent time learning to walk and stand at Plume Ridge Recovery Hospital. One step at time is how it was as I regained strength to stand and walk on my own again. Not easy but it was accomplished with the help of the staff there who once and while when I have time have gone several times since then stop by and say, hello to all of them there.

One of the things I love to do is meet new people wherever I happen to be or go with my second chance at life for a new beginning, a rebirth to accomplish my lifetime dreams and goals in my past life where I procrastinated on doing or getting them done. And I am not the only one in life who has spent a lifetime spinning their wheels going nowhere. I am not the first and I most certainly am not the last to do it. I know I am not perfect, are you?

Planning a trip from Klamath Falls and Eugene and back again home to Klamath Falls, Oregon on Amtrak.

Had the same trip I am planning for Friday December 6th, 2024, and going on if the train is not late again like it was on Thanksgiving Day by almost two hours. Had to cancel the trip Thanksgiving Day trip and make new reservations but this time see about getting a seat in the lower train number 14 going north and if on the return trip from Eugene had a lower seat coming back. I tried the 5th of December first but that was not going to happen. But on the 6th of December the chance to go on this trip with a lower seat was possible. I booked the trip but wish I would have checked into the 7th or 8th instead then I could have gone to the Shelton McMurphry Johnson House in Eugene right near the Amtrak train station in Eugene, Oregon. The museum is open for Tours on Tuesday- Friday 10 AM to 1 PM and Saturday & Sunday 1 to 4 PM.

Had a trip originally planned for Thanksgiving Day and thought it might be an interesting trip traveling with people on board Amtrak on Thanksgiving Day and to find out if Amtrak did anything special for Thanksgiving Day for the passengers from Klamath Falls, Oregon to Eugene on Amtrak train number 14 and from Eugene to Klamath Falls on Amtrak train number 11. However, that did not go as planned due the fact that the Amtrak number 14 was almost two hours late and it would have cut into the layover time between trains number 14 and 11 to be able to have enough time in Eugene to make it worth going on the trip. Even got a refund with the Friday Dec 6th

Amtrak tickets for the trip on Amtrak train number 14 and number 11 round trip from Klamath Falls at 7:43 AM and arrival in Eugene at 12:29 PM if the train is on time. Then returning after the tour in the evening leaving Eugene at 5:15 PM and returning Klamath Falls at 9:58 PM. The tour on board of the sights on the way during daylight hours on Amtrak train 14 north to see the many interesting places to on Amtrak train number 14 going north. Then taking a rest on the way back on Amtrak train number 11 headed back to Klamath Falls and due to arrive at 9:58 PM if it is on time going south. And I did not plan this trip on purpose or internally to disrupt but rather by fate or chance to be scheduled at the same time as Klamath County Museum’s once a month trip. And thought nothing about until I had already rescheduled with a refund for my Thanksgiving Day tickets. However, the train again may be late and without losing any more money can maybe take the train ride on Saturday Dec 7th or Sunday Dec 8th instead.
