Is serving coffee and donuts in Vets Park about the Homeless or

Carole Mommer....

KLAMATH FALLS, OR— "They quit", No, they just were not going to do all the work, while she sat on her ass

News reporters play an active role in gathering information on current events. A large portion of their day is spent investigating news before sending it in as a story.

Maybe they might want to find out first why a person quit something before they run with a story. And certainly not make it the first words out of their mouth. "They quit", and leave it at that and think they are doing a great story about a person helping the homeless, without telling the other part of the story of how that person got there.

But to simply say, "they quit", does not suffice and is pure laziness on the part of the reporter. Why even mention it in the first place? What was the point? But it seemed important enough to mention it. Why?

Find out why they quit, that's what good journalist do, before they just use it as their first words out of their mouth about a story, that is not about the person who quit. But had no problem bringing them in to it by saying, "they quit" and leave it at that, 'they quit'. That's what they get paid to do, report the whole story, not a half ass one.

I don't get paid a dime for the stories I do or write, not even ad revenue from my website. If you are going to do a story at least do it correctly, and not bring people into your story that did not need to be there, unless you plan on explaining, or reporting on their part of your story. Otherwise, what was the point in, "They Quit".

If you think I am not aware of all the people who are going to go out of their way to give the Coffee Lady a donation, out of spite, because of my complaint. Think again? I am full aware of that "FACT", as it is human nature to do it. And then have them say, "Well, we will show him, and donate to the "Coffee Lady" and let him know what we think about him complaining about that poor lady and her dog.

Nope, full aware that there would be people who would do just that and I am sure they have already. But when that news story dies and goes off into nowhere land, and those donations run dry and dry up, and are not coming in any longer, and they laughed about it, all while doing it. "We will show him".

No, you didn't. And again nope, "I got your number". You want to know why? Because it will be right back to where it was before the news story started. Sitting in the park talking about getting donations, all while sitting there doing the same thing as before, "Nothing". And not wanting to do the work involved in getting donations; but instead, have a hand out, waiting for another free hand out.

So who was the fool here now? Not me, I knew exactly what I was doing to generate more donations, knowing very well they will not be sustaining ones. Donations for the moment out of emotion. Real donations take time and work to sustain and keep them coming in, not the ones from an emotional outburst or from the temporary donations, that are nice to have but will not be replaced with real donations to the cause.

It's called you have to know how to play the game in order to come out the winner. If you know how to push the right buttons, the sky is the limit. Now who is laughing?

Sit in the park & wondering why you are not getting donations.

Donations take WORK, not sitting in a park talking about them...

Anybody can sit in the park handing out coffee & donuts, getting the donations replaced is WORK, not sitting and gossiping.
