Jim Garland Out and About at the Klamath Falls Gratitude Gathering

Kevin Brown
Professor in the Communication department at Oregon Institute of Technology

  Dr. Kevin Brown of OIT

Kevin connects the book and content in his lectures. His grading and instructions are confusing. When you ask for help on assignments he's still confusing. He has no compassion or empathy for students going through severe personal issues. He doesn't listen.

I would not recommend taking this class with him. Instructions were always unclear, his grading style makes no sense nor does it add up correctly. If you aren't a rugby player, I would suggest taking this class with someone else. To his credit, his lectures were pretty interesting when he wasn't talking about himself.

OH my God! OIT should rename this class "The history of Kevin Brown". The dude talks only about himself 24X7. He loves to impress the girls! Guys? Two hours of agony.

Really now?

From the beginning:

Greetings,

This is James Garland and over the weekend during an event I was coving for TNT, and became a part of the event for the Gratitude Gathering with Renee and Anna meeting. Gratitude Gathering

At which time, during my presentation, I was given information about your Community Radio Station KTEC 89.5 by one of the audience members that day. She gave me your information, and over the weekend I filed out an application for slots on your radio station. And left two voice mails on your phone number 1-541-937-5832 earlier this morning.

I am interested in putting together a morning drive program with the following slots that are available according to your slot schedule for 7AM-9AM Mon-Wed and Sat and Sun 7AM-9AM are still open.

Have a background in Redding, CA on KPAK AM 1230 Country & KLXR Classic Rock in 1988, KFXS 102.7 KFOX FM, 1991-92 and finally KARZ 106.1 FM Karz106 1993 as a part time DJ, which I still have my air check tapes from that time period. Plus a BA Degree in Human Resource Management from Simpson University in Redding, CA.

Presently, I am the owner of TNT which I started on Feb 11, 2010 and TNT does local and nation news stories on the blog with a following world wide of over 184,000 views since 2014. I do not make any money at what I do presently or have in the past. I do this as a community service and there are no ads on my sites.

I have covered many local events both on my blog and in videos, and most recently on your campus I covered the event with

US Senator Jeff Merkley's Town Hall Meeting at OIT. Klamath Falls, OR.

And during that meeting I met, Nagi G. Naganathan, Ph.D., ASME Fellow President Oregon Tech Office of the President

For my slots I am planning music, news, sports, weather, a little political commentary for a morning drive program on KTEC 89.5 slots listed above. And there will be two of us on air. He will need to be trained, in my case already have on air experience as list above too. But I am a bit rusty but all I need to do is be shown where everything is and I can take it from there.

I also plan on doing live remotes for the local non-profit organizations in the Klamath Basin, plus I am in the planning stages of offering walking tours of Downtown Klamath Falls which are still in the planning stages and the Chamber of Commerce's chair for tourism grants is also aware of my plans for bringing more tourism to Klamath County.

At your earliest opportunity I look forward to your reply on my letter of Interest for slots on KTEC 89.5 Community Radio Your Way.

Thanks for your time in this matter,

Best regards,
