What a trip it has been to Salem {Part four}

After taking a quick break and unpacking I decided to take a walk and see where things were in the area by the motel, I was staying in.

I headed north to see what was in that direction from my motel room as the Freeway was to right of the street I was on. I figured I could walk along until I came to an underpass and then turn right. And I kept walking and walking and walking miles it seemed before I finally came across an underpass I could walk through.

But before I got to that point, I started taking pictures of apartment buildings with the address and information so that I could use the pictures as a reference when I got back home to call them or email them if they had a Web address for contacting them to see if they had any vacancies. I also on this walk came across a storage place and there was even a little park next to it too.

Finally, I came across another little park before turning right through the underpass and a KFC, but how expensive they were but they were. And now I know where the U-Haul truck rental is too. And Walmart as well.

It was a long walk that is for sure, but it was worth it, and it is how I spent my 70th Birthday looking for an apartment and where all the stores were in this new neighborhood in the downtown area of Salem. Hoping soon I can locate a new place to live in Salem. I think Salem is a great new opportunity or my future endeavors with my news, “Voices”, “James” the monthly magazine and my radio shows.

Can’t wait until I can get completely moved to Salem, along with all the new friends I am going to meet up here too. From the taxi drivers to other people who work in the stores and the government in the Salem area.

Who knows I may even meet the Governor and do stories about not only Salem but the entire state of Oregon. A beginning of whole new chapter and leaving Klamath Falls, Oregon and Tulelake, CA chapters behind, that will be in my new book “Simple Truth”, coming out late fall or early winter in bookstores worldwide and the beginning of the book tours.
