Unbelievable

Since the door was not opened in Salem, which was my stop. You would think that in the capital of Oregon someone would be getting off in Salem, Oregon and that the conductors would check and see if there were passengers with a ticket with Salem, Oregon as their stop. Somewhere on a list. Apparently not.

I stood there looking out the window of the train door with all my baggage on top of my walker with my backpack on. I stood there thinking out loud, “This is not happening”. But it did. Looked at the locked door and thought about trying to open it but did not want to cause any problems if I did open it and let myself out. Thought about it but figured I might get hurt or cause someone else to get hurt. Bad idea.

And now as the train starts on its way towards its next stop which is Portland, Oregon. I pushed the call button, and nothing happened and there was another person on the lower deck with me who was wanting to get off and take his dog for a break. He then headed upstairs to the second floor trying to alert a conductor. It is where I headed next to find out why no one opened the door in Salem, Oregon in my car to let me off on my stop.

Finally caught up with the conductor who assigned my seat to me when I was in Klamath Falls, Oregon when I first got on the train. The train was already almost an hour late when it left Klamath Falls, Oregon.

When I caught up with the conductor who assigned my seat to me and mentioned I was supposed to be let off in Salem and no one came to open the door so I could get off.

He said, well you were not in the right seat and that’s when I said I was in the seat you put me in when I boarded in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He had a funny look on his face, and he also knew I was very upset. It was funny, but it was not funny. And told him I needed to get back to Salem as I had an appointment and motel reservations.

Not only was the train two hours late I missed my stop because no one let me off in Salem, Oregon. He then said he would arrange a ticket in Portland for my return trip back to Salem. And I said when, tomorrow. No, he said around 6 PM there was a train back to Salem to take you back there.

Like, wow! What a trip. The train was already two hours late and now I had to go all the way to Portland to catch another train back to Salem, Oregon. It would another six hours before I would get back to Salem, Oregon. The time it took to get there and wait and then the trip back to Salem, Oregon again.

Fianlly arrived back in Salem and called “Rediable Ride Taxi & Courier Services” and informed Eduado I was now back in Salem and if he could pick me and he said sure.
