February Tours planned

Left on Saturday January 11th on Amtrak train 14 from Klamath Falls, Oregon trip to Eugene, Oregon for the tour on Saturday January 11th of the tour of the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House https://smjhouse.org/ and back again on Amtrak train 11 to Klamath Falls, Oregon for the next tour trip to Eugene Walking tours on February 27th, 2025.

Got on board and found a seat in the lower section on the last car of the train riding backwards. Before boarding one of the Conductors from a couple of my trips on Amtrak checked me in at the Klamath Falls, Oregon train station where I met a couple who were traveling to Eugene. This was their first trip on Amtrak as they have never been on the train and heard about the water falls and tunnels on the trip from Klamath Falls, Oregon to Eugene.

I gave them a map that the Klamath County Museum uses for their trips once a month, the first Friday of each month, as Docent guides. It was frost bite cold the morning I left for my tours on Saturday January 11th on Amtrak for tour of Shelton McMurphey Johnson House that I was looking forward to touring on this trip. As Saturdays and Sundays are the ONLY days that work for the weekend tour trips. Shelton McMurphey Johnson House is open from 1 PM to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sunday’s and works with the 5-hour layover trip from Kamath Falls, Oregon to Eugene, Oregon on Amtrak train 14 at 7:43 AM and then return to Klamath Falls, Oregon on Amtrak 11 train at 5:15 PM.

Just enough time to take the tour of the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House and have dinner at the The Old Spaghetti Factory https://www.osf.com/ and catch the train back to Klamath Falls, Oregon. No reservations needed for the The Old Spaghetti Factory or for the the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House on the tours of Eugene, Oregon.

Once I was settled in my seat and all my belingings stored away I headed to the Observation Coach to get ready to see all the waterfalls on the left hand side of the train and the 21 tunnels the Amtrak train goes through and all the other sites to see from the Amtrak train 14 to Eugene, Oregon from Klamath, Falls, Oregon.
