Pay it forward Part 5

After I left the less fortunate young man Jacob living on the streets in Eugene headed back to the Amtrak train station to get ready to catch train 11 back to Klamath Falls, Oregon. I mentioned the next time I was in town I would take him and a friend out to dinner if I cross paths with him again. Then I thought to myself I think I am going to order an Amtrak $45.00 dinner I felt I had earned it on this trip to Eugene. The train was on time and got on board and my seat assignment in the lower car heading back to Klamath Falls, Oregon. After settled in and meeting some of my seatmates headed to the Observation Car and found a table where I could go to the dinner car and order my dinner.

When I got to the dinner car I mentioned to the server about me ordering a dinner. And he said no you don’t need to buy a dinner as I have one right here you can have because the person in one of the roomettes did not want their dinner so you can just have it, no charge. Wow! Talk about being blessed by passing what I brought with me to share with others on board Amtrak and when I am out and about. I had just met my new friend from China as she was sitting directly across from me at the other table in the Observation coach.

When moments later just as I was getting ready to eat my dinner the service person from the dinner car brought yet another dinner and said, “If you know someone esle who would like to have this dinner you can give it to someone else" for the same reason another person in a roomette did not want their dinner either. I then offered it to the woman from China who had flown to the USA from Hong Kong who flew to New York and caught the Amtrak to Chicago to Seatle and she was on her way to Los Angelas to stay in a hostel with other people from other countries. She was still learning to speak English, so I helped her with it as much as I could before I got home in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
