Trip number 11 in 2024 on Amtrak train 14 last month was a very interesting trip to say the least. Left a little late but not late enough to make a difference when arriving in Eugene for my five-hour layover tour planning trip and return on Amtrak train 11.

After getting on board and getting my seat in the lower section nearest the restrooms after the third degree by the conductor as to what my plans were for making the trip to Eugene that day. Making sure I was not going to speak in the Observation coach due to apparently complaints from the Klamath Falls to Eugene Docent Interpretive Guide group with one trainee among them. And mentioned if I did, he would stop the train and kick me off the train, even if was in the middle of nowhere.

I settled in before heading to the Observation coach with my new seatmates I had just met. One of my seatmates was a Japanese woman from the bay area and I discovered her sister and mother both live in Eugene somewhere. Her father wanted her to be a pharmacist but she was not thrilled being one.

She had had a stoke years ago and was having a hard time speaking sometimes but once she slowed down with her speech everyone could understand what she was trying to say. We became fast friends as I always make friends very easily on all my trips on Amtrak.

No matter where I am heading or going at the time. I love meeting new people and do all the time on my trips or any where I happened to go or be traveling to at the time. This trip was to explore the options of orginazing trips for my future tours to Eugene and back on Amtrak train 14 leaving out of Klamath Falls to Eugene for a five-hour layover and returning the same day back to Klamath Falls, OR.
