Family History of Tulelake- Baley's Part two

us. She was my grandfather John's sister. She married Joe Slezak who wore overalls and chewed tobacco. I loved Uncle Joe. Aunt Liz was 50 when I was born.

I ended up with 13 boy cousins and finally got a girl cousin when I was 8. We all lived in a great big square that I called Baleyville.

So, my Aunt Liz was a tiny thing and Uncle Joe was funny at times. They lived in a very small house in town. I do not really know what Uncle Joe did for a living, but he was somehow related to Jack Slezak. You see a lot of Czechs lived in the area. I used to stay with Aunt Liz and Uncle Joe on occasion

but don’t remember too much about them other than what I have already told you. Aunt Lizs full name was Elizabeth. Jack married Iris and they had Brad and Mark. I guess they would have been my 3rd or 4th cousins. They had a bird that i was scared shitless of and they always let it out of the cage when we would visit them. I know now they were just proud of that bird but back then I thought it was mean rude and crude.

Enough about the Slezaks that was Aunt Liz's side of the family.

So now back to the Baley side of the family. My Dad Bill Baley had 3 brothers John Ed and Ronnie. My Dad was the 2nd oldest. All the Baley boys

followed in Grandpa Johns footsteps I suppose that they helped grandpa farm as they were growing up. Grandma only told stories of how her n granpa met.

Granpa swept my granma off her feet. My great grand mother ran a boarding house in Lafayette Lousiana, and that is where my grandparents met, fell in love and got married. They had John Charles Baley Jr. And two years later in July of 1928 William Frank Baley was born. I had no idea until recently that my grand mother had 13 siblings.
