Growing up in a small town-Lanie Baley P3

(I didn't want to be disrespectful, so I didn't ask her why she was doing it. I just thought to myself well then why is she doing it then). That stuck with me for the rest of my life…

I got an award for reading the most books when I was in the first grade. I thought that was pretty cool and I won a book called the looking Glass that was about a magnifying glass. That's about all I remember as a first grader.

Second grade was Mrs. Green-banks she was my aunt Pat’s sister, but I didn't know that when I was that young, but I knew there was some kind of relation there. She was a pretty cool teacher too. I had a crush on G.T. when I was in the second grade whether he knew it or not I am not sure. We used to chase the boys and try to kiss them just to make them mad when we were in second grade.

Mrs. McClain was my third-grade teacher, and third grade was kind of a transition type grade where if you didn't know how to read yet your SOL, but I knew how to read but that's when I started having problems retaining what I was reading if I recall she was also my kindergarten teacher for some time.

I am not going to tell you who my 4th grade teacher was she had different name by the time I got into fourth grade but she had been my brother's either 5th grade or fourth grade teacher I think they said fifth grade and they did not get along with her.

I think the reason I got a “D”. because I did the same work that everybody else did and I was a pretty good student. She gave somebody else an A doing the same exact work so we leave that at that.

We did move to Alturas when I was in the third grade for about 3 months maybe not even three maybe two during the end of the last part of the school year because my mom had a boyfriend who wanted to move to Alturas. I did have a boyfriend there that was my first date who walked me to the horse show that was only about a 10th of a mile from my house.
