Facts vs. Alternate angles in letter to the Editor supporting DeGroot for Klamath County Commissioner
Commission to investigate Commissioner DeGroot ethics complaints
It wasn't Holiday, it was Safeway. For someone claiming they are "a lifelong resident of Klamath County", you miss the mark, along with your "facts". And Eternal Hills was not being bought by the county, the deal fell through and was not approved by the judge in charge of the court case.
Your facts are as good as used car salesman trying to tell the customer the car only had one previous owner.
Laughable "Letter to the Editor", Bill Walker.
I bet I could dig further and find even more flaws in your claims about Commissioner Derrick DeGroot and your claims about him and you're a lifelong resident of Klamath County" comment from your “A VOTE TO KEEP DEGROOT,” Letter to the editor for Saturday, March 30, 2024
"The Oregon Government Ethics Commission announced that after reviewing two ethics complaints filed against Klamath County Commissioner Derrick DeGroot, the Commission will enter into an investigation into the claims alleging conflict of interest and taking a gift of more than $50 from an individual with an administrative or legislative interest.
Commission officials emphasized that the decision to investigate doesn’t insinuate violations of state statutes, but is just the next step in a process to determine whether state statutes were violated. The investigation will last 180 days, according to Commission investigator Susan Myers, who reviewed and compiled reports on both ethics complaints.”
Letter to the editor for Saturday, March 30, 2024
“I also encourage all of you to vote for Derrick DeGroot. Looking at his record, you will find DeGroot is a man of integrity who loves our community. DeGroot is also the only candidate with a proven successful track record as a County Commissioner. He’s the candidate that has proven accomplishments here in Klamath County.”
He listened when we told him we needed a grocery store downtown and he helped bring Holiday Market to fill that void. He listened as we told him the grief we were suffering from the tragedy at Eternal Hills and he proposed the idea to buy it and solve the problem. He listened when we said we wanted a strong Sheriff’s Department that didn’t rely on road funds any longer. With DeGroot, you don’t have to wonder if he’ll get things done — you can look at his record of performance to see what he will do going forward. Vote DeGroot for County Commissioner — the candidate with a proven successful track record as Klamath County Commissioner.”
